Beschrijving
1876. Another volume from Kellogg’s The Forest Glen Series. The story contained in these pages is one of strong lights and dark shades; and it is thus in virtue of the stormy period during which the events narrated occurred, and because it presents a life-picture of the character and circumstances of men and women who deliberately entered upon a struggle in which life was at stake. The Black Rifle, whose feats were the subject of conversation at the settler’s fireside, is no imaginary character, but moved a master spirit among the fierce fighters of those dark and bloody days.
